Thermowells & Support Tubes

Thermowells are tubular fittings designed to protect temperature sensors installed in industrial processes. A thermowell consists of a tube closed at one end and mounted in the process stream, providing an extra layer of protection for temperature measurement equipment.

We offer several varieties of thermowells that house both RTDs & our Temperature Sensing Capillary Probes, ensuring precise temperature control and protection in harsh industrial environments.

Direct replacement options

Not only do our thermowells & support tubes work seamlessly with our STEMCO Capillary Thermostats, but they are also compatible with a wide variety of competitor thermostats, offering flexibility & reliable performance across different temperature control systems.

Metal material

Thermowells & support tubes are available in a variety of metal options, including copper, plated copper, stainless steel, brass, & clear PVC, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of temperature control systems and applications.

CUSTOM OPTIONS

Thermowells & support tubes built by Senasys can be customized to meet your exact specifications, ensuring you receive the precise temperature control you need without paying for unnecessary features.

MADE IN U.S.A.

All Senasys products are designed, manufactured, tested, & shipped from our facilities in Eau Claire, WI to clients worldwide. Every switch is individually 100% tested for quality & performance before leaving our plant, ensuring reliable operation for every customer.

Senasys manufactures thermowells & support tubes using materials like copper, plated copper, stainless steel, & brass. Our standard models combine materials, such as brass fittings with stainless steel or copper tubes, for enhanced durability. These thermowells feature male pipe threads & bulkhead-type mounts, with swaged & welded tube ends for secure connections.

Thermowells for Sensor Protection

Thermowells protect sensors from the effects of pressure, chemicals, & material flows. We offer various types that house both RTDs & our Temperature Sensing Capillary Probes. For dry bulb applications, additional hardware may not be needed, but wet bulb applications or some thermowells require extra hardware to secure the bulb in the fluid or medium being monitored. This can include a simple compression ring or more intricate hardware to secure the bulkhead & seal the chamber, such as in Hot Water Heater tanks.

Clear PVC Thermowells

Clear PVC thermowells are ideal for unobtrusive temperature sensing in fluid applications. These thermowells protrude outward from the monitored cavity, preventing damage to sensors in environments like pools & spas where inward-facing sensors may break. The unique design allows the temperature sensing probe to be positioned outside the fluid stream, offering protection while still allowing for 360° sensing around the RTD or probe. Available with seal, PVC nut, & retaining grommet options, clear PVC thermowells ensure accurate readings without sensor damage.

Support Tubes for Extended Sensor Reach

Support tubes bring the sensing device further into the material being monitored. Manufactured similarly to our thermowells, these open-ended tubes match the sensing probes and are available in the same materials. Custom lengths & material options are available to meet your specific application needs.

351 Series Thermowells

The 351 Series Thermowells are designed with male pipe threads & bulkhead-type mounts, featuring swaged & welded tube ends for secure connections. These thermowells provide protection for sensors in various industrial applications.

Material Options:

  • Copper, plated copper, stainless steel, & brass
  • Standard models include combinations such as brass fittings with stainless steel or copper tubes for added durability.

TW Series Clear PVC Thermowells

The TW Series Clear PVC Thermowells are ideal for unobtrusive temperature sensing in fluid applications. These thermowells extend outward from the monitored cavity, making them perfect for environments like pools or spas, where inward-facing sensors are vulnerable to damage.

Material:

  • Clear PVC for reliable and protected sensing.

368 Series Support Tubes

The 368 Series Support Tubes are built similarly to our thermowells, but with open ends to accommodate sensing probes. These tubes extend the sensing element into the material being monitored for more accurate readings.

Material Options:

  • Copper, plated copper, stainless steel, & brass
  • Standard models include combinations like brass fittings with stainless steel or copper tubes for flexibility & strength.
