Thermowells and Support Tubes

We currently manufacture thermowells with, copper, plated copper, stainless steel and brass. Combinations of materials such as brass fittings with stainless steel or copper tubes are our standard models. The thermowells have male pipe thread through bulk head type mounts with swadged and welded tube ends.

Thermowells protect sensors from the effects of pressure, chemicals and material flows. We currently produce several varieties that house both RTD’s and our Temperature Sensing Capillary Probes. Thermowell applications or dry bulb may not require any additional hardware on the bulb or capillary tube. A wet bulb application and some thermowells require additional hardware to secure the bulb into the fluid or medium being sensed. This can be a simple compression ring on the outside of the bulb or an intricate hardware arrangement securing the bulkhead and sealing the chamber. EX: Hot Water Heater tank.

Clear PVC thermowells

Clear PVC thermowells are available for unobtrusive sensing of fluid temperatures. These thermowells protrude out of the cavity being monitored rather than inward. Typical installation is for a temperature sensing RTD in a pool or spa where an inward protruding sensor may be damaged or broken. Clear PVC thermowell has a unique design that allows for sensing probe to be positioned out of the fluid stream to prevent damege or breakage of the sensor and thermowell. Material can be sensed 360° around the RTD or probe either stagnantly of by circulating monitored fluid around the sensing chamber. Three through hole sizes include seal, PVC nut and retaining grommet.

Support Tubes

Support tubes are used to bring the sensing device further into the material being monitored. We build these the same as our thermowell with open ends to match the sensing probes. The same materials as the thermowell is available. Custom options such as lengths and materials are available.
